The Purpose

The Bridge is equal parts ministry and attraction.  On the one hand, we are striving to be the new Main Street.  The place where you go to be with your friends.  A lidless environment where you can live and be and grow and meet and shine.  On the other hand, The Bridge is a ministry where the exchange of ideas is not limited to acceptable social subjects, but includes subjects (like faith and politics) which have been too taboo to mention in other years or settings.  Behind the scenes, staff members and volunteers are listening, connecting, loving, sharing, and sacrificing to bring the hope of Christ to everyone through actions, attitude, and words.  We will not relegate Christ to our apparel or our overhead sound system.  His Spirit is alive in us and you should see that.

Faith should not be pushed to the periphery of life.  The Bridge is a bold step into the mainstream.  We want to be the best.  We want to live and we want to give life.  We want thousands of people to call this place "home" because they find things here that are challenging, fun, and intellectually stimulating.  We will not give undue deference or power to things that are not truly powerful. Music is music.  Ideas are Ideas.  Lyrics are expression.  Sport is not life.  You may see something here you don't like - but we will always see each person that comes here as important and valuable.  You may hear things you don't agree with, but our staff and volunteers will strive to always bring truth, faith, kindness, and love (the things of God) into the equation, whether you ever agree with us or not.

Our ultimate hope and purest joy will be to see some of the people that come through The Bridge and its affiliate ministries one day become believers in Christ and members of a community of the Christian Faith.  Our promise is to never exclude anyone based on belief, custom, nationality, race, disability, or political alignment.  We simply want to chance to hear your ideas and to share our lives and hope with you.
